As of October 15, LADOT has resumed parking enforcement. While some enforcement was ongoing now it’s back to regular schedule. If the intent was to keep our streets clean we’d see an increase of debris on the streets. This is all being done at the cost of the community by placing financial strain and disruption when we are supposed to be working from home. It’s estimated that the city will have a deficit of around $600M.
… instruction of Mayor Garcetti, LADOT has also launched economic relief measures… reward discounts on citations for early payment.
The city is fully aware of the financial burden that we’ve all taken as a result of months of closure due to the pandemic. We had to endure a longer closure as a result of the failure of the mayor & council handling of the pandemic and too early of an attempt to reopen LA when financial burden was seen at city level.
